As of September 2026, a new Balenciaga Le City costs RM 8,950 for the Mini, RM 10,750 for the Small and RM 12,950 for the Medium on Balenciaga's Malaysian website. The original City bag it replaced, authenticated and pre-owned, sold at Glampot for RM 1,299 to RM 4,071 between 2024 and September 2026 in 7/10 condition or better, with a median of about RM 2,150 — roughly a sixth of the price of a new Le City Medium, in almost exactly the same size.
This guide covers what Balenciaga's bags cost new in Malaysia today, what they have really sold for pre-owned at Glampot (realised prices from our own sales records, not asking prices), how the 2024 Le City compares with the original City in centimetres, and what separates a RM 1,300 City from a RM 4,000 one. The Short Answer: Balenciaga Prices in Malaysia, New vs Pre-Owned
New prices are Balenciaga Malaysia's own, read from balenciaga.com/en-my in September 2026 for the black version of each bag. Pre-owned prices are what these bags actually sold for at Glampot between January 2024 and September 2026, across conditions from 6.5/10 to 9.5/10.

"Not listed" means the bag was not on Balenciaga's Malaysian website when we checked in September 2026. For the thinner rows — Neo Classic, Hourglass, Le Cagole, Crush and Rodeo — the range comes from a handful of individual bags, so read it as a set of reference points rather than a market price.
Glampot verdict: A pre-owned original Balenciaga City is the best-value way into the brand in Malaysia. It is almost the same size as the new Le City, and at Glampot it has typically sold for around RM 2,150 against RM 12,950 for a new Le City Medium. Pay more for Metallic Edge hardware, goatskin (chèvre) and 8.5/10 condition or better; pay less for worn lambskin. Newer designs such as the Rodeo and Le Cagole hold more of their boutique price.
Le City vs the Original City: What Changed in 2024
The City launched in 2001, the medium size of Nicolas Ghesquière's first "Motorcycle" bags. Balenciaga made just 25 prototypes, some of which went to fashion editors and to Kate Moss, and demand after she was photographed with hers pushed the bag into full production. It became one of the defining bags of the 2000s.
In April 2024, for Spring-Summer 2024, Balenciaga brought it back as the Le City. The signatures are all still there. Balenciaga Malaysia's current listing for the black Le City describes Arena lambskin, two hand-braided handles with waxed cord, a removable and adjustable strap with a shoulder pad, a double-sided zip with long tails, a front zipped pocket, a removable mirror debossed with the Balenciaga logo, and a cotton canvas lining, made in Italy. What changed is the finish: resale specialists describe it as more polished and more structured than the slouchy original, with slightly smaller, refined hardware.
For shoppers, the useful point is that the sizes barely moved. If you know which original City suited you, you already know your Le City size.

Le City Mini, Small and Medium figures are from Balenciaga Malaysia's product pages. *The Large is from Bragmybag; it was not on the Malaysian site in September 2026. Original City figures are the published measurements collected by Bragmybag, Yoogi's Closet and Spotted Fashion, converted to centimetres and rounded; guides differ by a few millimetres, and a well-carried lambskin City relaxes out of shape.
What fits, according to Balenciaga: the Mini takes the largest smartphones; the Small takes a smartphone and a tablet; the Medium takes a smartphone, a book, a tablet and a small laptop. Handle drops are 8 cm (Mini), 10 cm (Small) and 15 cm (Medium), and the strap drops are 50 cm, 55 cm and 42 cm.
The Original City Bag, Size by Size
City (regular) — the one everyone pictures
The regular City is the size the Le City Medium replaced, and the one we see most of. Between 2024 and September 2026 it sold at Glampot for RM 1,299 to RM 4,071 in 7/10 condition or better, with the middle half of sales between RM 1,799 and RM 2,899. One heavily worn 6.5/10 example sold for RM 300 in 2026 — a reminder of how far condition can pull the price down.
Most Citys reach us at 7.5/10 to 8/10. The leather is thin and soft by design, and a bag that has been carried for years shows it at the corners and on the handles. That wear is the main reason the range is so wide.
What sits at the top of the range: Metallic Edge hardware and special editions. A black Classic Graffiti City sold for RM 4,071 (2026), and Metallic Edge Citys have sold between RM 2,099 and RM 3,366 since 2024. Plain lambskin Citys with Giant 12 or Giant 21 hardware in 7/10 condition sat at the bottom, around RM 1,299.
Small City / City S
The Small City is the everyday size many people now prefer: small enough for the forearm and, by Balenciaga's own description of the Le City Small, big enough for a smartphone and a tablet. Since 2024 it has sold at Glampot for RM 799 to RM 3,195, the low end being well-used 6.5/10 lambskin and the high end a blue croc-embossed Metallic Edge Small City at 9/10 (RM 3,195, 2025). In 2021 and 2022 our best Metallic Edge Small Citys in chèvre sold for RM 5,000 to RM 6,399, well above anything we have seen since.
Mini City
The Mini City is a crossbody-first bag with a phone-sized body. Since 2024 it has sold for RM 2,417 to RM 3,599, which, as with the Small, is below where it stood a few years ago: in 2020 our best Mini Citys sold for RM 4,399 to RM 4,999 in 9/10 to 10/10 condition. The shift is gentle rather than dramatic, and every one of those bags was a different leather, colour and grade, so treat it as a direction rather than a rule.
Nano City
The Nano is the smallest of the family — at about 18 cm across, closer to a pouch than a day bag. It sold at Glampot for RM 1,500 to RM 4,600 in 2024. The top of that range was a Mink Grey Nano with Metallic Edge hardware at 9/10 (RM 4,600, 2024).
What Makes One City Worth Double Another
Hardware. The City has worn several hardware generations, and the market prices them differently. Yoogi's Closet dates them as the small Classic (or Arena) studs of the original design; Giant 21 from 2007 until 2012; Giant 12 from 2012; and Metallic Edge from the 2014 collection. On our sales, Metallic Edge Citys consistently sat in the upper half of the range.
Leather. Early bags were made in goatskin (chèvre), which Balenciaga replaced with lambskin (agneau) from Fall/Winter 2007, bringing chèvre back from 2013 for limited editions. That makes chèvre bags either early or limited, and on our records they sold near the top of the range. Our three highest Small City prices were all chèvre Metallic Edge bags.
Condition. Because the leather shows every year of use, grade matters more on a City than on a structured bag. A 9.5/10 City is rare, and it is priced accordingly.
Colour. In our experience, black, grey and neutral tones sell fastest. Reds and bright shades take longer and usually need a keener price to move — the cheapest Hourglass we have sold was a red Small at 8/10 (RM 1,655, 2026), less than half what a black XS in the same grade fetched.
Beyond the City: Balenciaga's Other Bags
Neo Classic
Balenciaga's reworking of the City shape, still carrying its studs and buckles. On our records it sold for RM 2,700 to RM 3,899 between 2024 and 2026 — a Small in fuchsia at 8.5/10 for RM 2,700, a Mini in white at 8.5/10 for RM 2,879 and a black Small at 8/10 for RM 3,899 (all 2026), and the Medium above for RM 3,679 (2024). It was not on Balenciaga Malaysia's website in September 2026.
Hourglass
Balenciaga's sculptural top-handle bag, introduced in 2019 under Demna, with a curved base and a large B clasp. Pre-owned, it has sold at Glampot for RM 1,655 to RM 4,400 since 2024: a black croc-embossed XS at 7.5/10 for RM 4,400 (2025), a black XS at 8/10 for RM 3,403 (2026), a black Small at 8.5/10 for RM 3,863 (2024), and the red Small mentioned above for RM 1,655. In September 2026 Balenciaga Malaysia lists its successor, the Hourglass Avenue, at RM 10,790 (Small) and RM 12,500 (Medium); the original top-handle Hourglass was not listed.
Le Cagole
Introduced for Pre-Fall 2021, the Le Cagole takes the City's studs, buckles and braided details and puts them on a curved shoulder bag with a heart-shaped mirror. New, Balenciaga Malaysia lists the XS from about RM 11,100 and the Small from RM 12,200 in September 2026. Pre-owned, ours sold for RM 2,899 to RM 5,799: a denim Small at 7.5/10 for RM 2,899 (2025), a pink Arena lambskin XS at 8/10 for RM 3,699 (2024) and a grey croc-embossed XS at 8.5/10 for RM 5,799 (2025).
Crush
A quilted, pillowy chain shoulder bag. The Crush has sold at Glampot in a tight band, RM 4,499 to RM 4,649, in 8.5/10 to 9/10 condition (2024–2026). Balenciaga Malaysia listed only the Crush Chain Bag XS, at RM 9,900, in September 2026.
Rodeo
The most expensive bag here when new: RM 15,000 for the Small and RM 18,750 for the Medium on Balenciaga Malaysia. The Rodeos we have sold, both in 2026, were a black Small at 8/10 for RM 6,750 and a tan Medium at 9/10 for RM 15,899 — the latter within about 15% of the boutique price. These are individual transactions, not a trend, but a near-new Rodeo was clearly not discounted like a City.
Older Motorcycle shapes
The City's siblings — the Work, Part Time, First, Velo, Twiggy, Town and Day — still turn up pre-owned. Since 2024 the Velo has sold at Glampot for RM 800 to RM 1,899, the First for RM 1,299 to RM 2,999 and the Work for RM 885 to RM 2,799. They are the cheapest route to the Motorcycle look, and the same rules on hardware, leather and condition apply.
Which Balenciaga Should You Buy?
If you want the icon at the lowest price — a pre-owned original City in 8/10 or better, which has usually sold at Glampot for RM 1,800 to RM 3,100 since 2024.
If you want it hands-free — the Mini City or a Le City Mini, both about 24 cm across and both sold with a shoulder strap.
If you carry a tablet or small laptop — the regular City or the Le City Medium. The Small will not take a laptop.
If you want a newer design that holds more of its value — a Rodeo or a Le Cagole in very good condition, but expect to pay more to start with.
How to Buy a Pre-Owned Balenciaga Safely
Read the tab inside. The interior tab carries a style number and, on many bags, a season letter, which Balenciaga runs backwards through the alphabet (Yoogi's Closet dates "A" to Fall/Winter 2017). It tells you roughly when the bag was made — useful when a seller calls an older City a "Le City".
Check the hardware and zips. Stud size, finish and zip markings should match the generation the bag claims to be.
Look at the leather in daylight. Genuine Balenciaga lambskin is matte and soft; counterfeits tend to be shinier and stiffer.
Ask for measurements. Ask for a tape measure along the base. The lengths are 18, 24, 30 and 38 cm for Nano, Mini, Small and regular.

A Short Note on Who Designs Balenciaga Now
The City was Nicolas Ghesquière's. The Hourglass, Le Cagole and the Le City relaunch came under Demna, who led the house for a decade before being named artistic director of Gucci in March 2025. Pierpaolo Piccioli, formerly of Valentino, took over as Balenciaga's creative director on 10 July 2025. What he does with the house's bags is still unfolding.
