The honest answer to "how much is my bag worth?" is a range, not a number — and the range is usually lower than people expect for Chanel and Dior, and higher than people expect for Hermès. A black caviar Chanel Jumbo that cost about RM 57,000 new has sold with us for roughly a quarter to two-fifths of that. A Hermès Birkin 25 in black Togo has sold for RM 61,800 – 74,000, often more than the same bag costs in a boutique.
This guide shows what designer bags actually resell for in Malaysia in 2026, using prices from completed sales at Glampot rather than asking prices on listings, and explains the six things that move a valuation up or down. These are the median prices bags from each brand actually sold for at Glampot between September 2025 and August 2026, with the typical range (the middle half of sales). They come from our Resale Price Index.

How Much of the Boutique Price Does a Bag Keep?
This is the question most sellers really mean. Here is the answer for bags where we can put a reliable boutique price beside our own sale prices.

Three things explain the pattern.
Boutique prices have risen much faster than resale prices. Chanel has raised its prices many times since 2019. Someone who bought a Classic Flap years ago may get back close to what they paid, even though the share of today's boutique price looks low. What you paid matters to you; it does not matter to a buyer.
Resale prices move too. A black caviar Jumbo typically sold with us for about RM 31,600 in 2022 and about RM 16,000 in 2025. A navy Coco Handle 29 cm sold for RM 18,599 in 2023; a similar one sold for RM 14,250 in September 2026. The full history is in our Chanel price history.

Six Things That Move Your Valuation
1. Condition — the biggest single factor
Two identical Chanel card holders, one graded 10/10 and one 8/10, sold with us for RM 3,499 and RM 1,499. Two black Epsom Kelly 28 Selliers one grade apart sold RM 24,751 apart. Corners, handles, the edges of the flap, the interior and the hardware are where buyers look first. Our condition grading page explains each grade.
2. Model and size
The classic, continuously-produced models hold value best: the Chanel Classic Flap and Coco Handle, the Hermès Birkin, Kelly, Constance and Picotin, the Lady Dior, the Louis Vuitton Speedy, Neverfull, Noé and Pochette Métis, the Goyard Saint Louis. Small and medium sizes generally sell faster than the largest ones.
3. Leather and colour
Black, beige and other neutrals sell fastest and for the most. For Chanel, caviar leather sits at the top of the price range and lambskin at the bottom, because caviar shows less wear. For Hermès, Togo and Epsom are the easiest leathers to sell. Seasonal colours and prints still sell — they just take longer and fetch less.
4. What comes with it
Box, dust bag, authenticity card or microchip, receipt, and for Hermès the lock, keys, clochette and rain cover. A complete set sells faster and for more. That said, a genuine bag without its box is still very sellable.
5. Age and hardware
Newer production is usually worth more, with one exception: sought-after vintage pieces, such as older Chanel with 24-karat gold-plated hardware, can command a premium of their own. Worn or scratched hardware lowers the grade.
6. Changes to the bag
Hot-stamped initials, re-dyeing, re-painted edges or a replaced lining all reduce the pool of buyers. If you are thinking of restoring a bag before selling, ask for a quote first — it is often worth more as it is.
Resale Price vs What You Receive
Every price on this page is what a buyer paid. What you receive as the seller is lower, because the store carries the cost of authenticating, photographing, marketing and holding the bag, and in a buyout it also carries the risk of the bag not selling.
- Consignment pays you the most. You agree the amount you will receive in writing before the bag goes on sale, and you are paid when it sells.
- Buyout pays you immediately but less, because the store is buying the bag with its own money and taking on the risk.

How to Get an Accurate Valuation
Send clear daylight photos of the front, back, base, all four corners, the handles or strap, the interior, the hardware, any serial sticker, card or microchip, and anything you still have from the original purchase. Tell us the model and size if you know them. From that we can give you a realistic range within 24–48 business hours, confirmed after we inspect the bag in person at our Mid Valley Megamall store.
Before you ask anyone for a quote, it is worth checking what similar bags have actually sold for rather than what people are asking. Asking prices on marketplaces are often far above what bags really sell for.

How much is my designer bag worth in Malaysia?
It depends mainly on the brand, model, size, condition and completeness. As a guide, the typical resale price at Glampot between September 2025 and August 2026 was RM 11,910 for Hermès, RM 7,800 for Chanel, RM 3,760 for Dior and RM 3,360 for Louis Vuitton. Send photos for a figure for your own bag.
How much of the original price will I get back for a Chanel bag?
On our sales, a black caviar Chanel Classic Flap Jumbo resold for about 26–39% of today's reported boutique price, a Medium/Large for about 29–52%, and a 29 cm Coco Handle for about 46–60%. Because Chanel's boutique prices have risen sharply over the years, many owners still get back a large share of what they originally paid.
Do Hermès bags hold their value?
Better than any other brand we sell. A black Togo Birkin 25 has sold with us for RM 61,800–74,000, and a black Epsom Kelly 28 Sellier sold for RM 49,000 in 2022 and RM 48,000 in 2026. Some colours and older pieces have fallen, so it is not guaranteed.
Does a missing box or receipt lower the value?
A little. A complete set sells faster and for more, particularly for Chanel and Hermès, but a genuine bag without its box, dust bag or receipt is still very sellable once it has been authenticated.
Why is my offer lower than the prices I see online?
Most online prices are asking prices, not sale prices, and many bags listed at those prices never sell. The prices on this page are what buyers actually paid. What you receive as a seller is also lower than the final selling price, because the store covers authentication, marketing and the risk of holding the bag.
Is it worth restoring my bag before selling?
Usually not. Many buyers pay less for bags that have been re-dyed, re-edged or relined. Clean it gently, stuff it back into shape, and ask for a quote as it is.

The classics in neutral colours: the Hermès Birkin, Kelly and Constance; the Chanel Classic Flap and Coco Handle in black caviar; the Lady Dior; and the Louis Vuitton Pochette Métis, Noé and Speedy.
